This is the legendary high covering foundation that has been all over YouTube lately. This foundation is waterproof, hypoallergenic, ment for all skin types, preservative free and has an SPF of 30 – as if any ray of light would be able to filter through this formula. It contains 50% pigments, which makes it a weapon against skin imperfections. You get a volume of 30mg. The popular Czech cosmetics brand Dermacol has been in the beauty industry for over 50 years. It was first introduced to the world back in the early 1960’s. Created in Barrandov Film Studios, the Dermacol brand focused primarily on creating products for the film industry. After achieving some initial success, the Dermacol team formed a few integral partnerships with dermatologists, film experts, and other beauty professionals to craft a makeup line superior to anything else that was already available on the market. From there what is known as Dermacol’s breakthrough line, Dermacol Makeup Cover, was launched with aspirations to become the leading makeup line in the film-industry. This full coverage foundation promises to provide the most intense coverage and still maintain a natural finish to skin. Dermacol Makeup Cover was one of the first brands to introduce such an opaque foundation with a formulation that is made up of 50 % pigment, great for completely neutralizing dark under eye circles and thoroughly camouflaging imperfections like hyperpigmentation, acne, bruises, and even tattoos. The only downfall of the Dermacol Makeup Cover is its limited shade range.
You can find the Dermacol Makeup Cover foundation available in 13 shades best suited for those with very pale to medium tan skin tones. I am in the shade 208 which is a shade too light but prefer mixing this with my L’oréal True Match foundation in R2/N2. To me, this my perfect match. This combination provides the perfect coverage even in thin layers and is the perfect neutralizer. It can be used on the your face or body for color correction, darkening or lightening the skin tones, and ensuring your ideal balance. It is widely used as a professional make-up for photo or film shoots, modeling and for festive occasions. Their product stood the test of time, being such a savvy cosmetics brand, it makes perfect sense that the Dermacol is highly celebrated by make-up lovers worldwide. There is only ons thing that you should take into consideration. Because of its opaqueness a little of the Dermacol Makeup Cover will go a long way. Start off small and build your way up. The product comes in a golden-sealed tube which can be opened by using the back side of the cap, very hygenic. The texture is creamy like a velvety mousse making it easy to spread and apply. It has a floral fragrance which is pleasant! The pigmentation is very extreme and only a pea sized drop is required for full face coverage which is quite remarkable! I bought mine from Moon Cosmetics, one of the official retailers from Dermacol. Always make sure to check the authenticity of this product. And the price point. I paid £9.90 for one tube which is reasonable, but watch out for fake products that are either priced way too low or are way to expensive. When in doubt, check the golden label. Also, this product has an extremely long expiration date, my tubes won’t expire until May, 2021! Due to the extreme coverage, there is a potential for this foundation to clog pores if not removed thoroughly. Ensure you have a rigorous cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising routine to prevent this and break outs. Update: shade is too light but works perfect as a concealer, 207 works great to spot conceal and 212 ended up being my exact skin match however I don’t use this foundation by itself but mixed in with another product.
