Adidas is hands-down one of my favorite brands of sneakers. My first ever pair was the Red Power in suède from the 2015 Adidas X Stan Smith collab. StanSmith is an American tennis player, who was active between the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1980s. Adidas approached him to endorse the so-called Haillet shoe in 1973. This collaboration has achieved icon status and became an enduring classic. The design and form of the shoe stayed the same since the official launch, but several new versions and colorways have appeared throughout the years. The shoe, usually made with a white leather upper and laces, has a simple design. Unlike most Adidas shoes, it does not have the external three stripes. Instead there are three rows of perforations on both sides of each shoe, in the same pattern that normally symbolize the three ordinary stripes. Sometimes, there’s a sketched picture of Stan Smith on the tongue of the shoe. The Adidas branding is kept very minimalistic on this pair. I usually wear this specific pair during fall or winter with a band T-shirt, a black leather jacket and ripped, black jeans. Here are some of my more recent “outfit of the day” creations.
“GHETTO SUPERSTAR, THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE”.
I love how Adidas, in general, can be mixed in as a ‘sports brand’ into an outfit, on different occassions: wearing business wear and sneakers or a tracksuit combined with classy shoes. I’ve bought all of my current sneakers from Zalando – known for being quick, affordable, stocking the latest trends on their webshop, their awesome customer service and return policy. For reference, I wear a size 38 which is a 5 in the UK and a 6.5 in the US according to their size chart. I’m wearing the Adidas Originals Superstar 80s in Rose Gold with a metal toe cap.
