Shoes and the women who wear them. I’ve been a fan of the preppy meets boarding school English kinda shoe or beter know as brogues, for as long as I can remember. Throughout my search for the perfect shoe came the perfect fit – Vanessa Wu. In a previous article a specific store was mentioned named Noir. I bought my first pair on their webshop and was hooked ever since. These were the first ever pair of shoes I bought via Shop Noir. Vanessa Wu is the creative director of this trendsetting footwear brand. She designs shoes to empower women in their everyday lives, to feel confident and unique while expressing their femininity. Based in Paris, she represents so many women worldwide.

Her designs are created to bring you not only style but everyday comfort. She translates the latest trends in a budget-friendly version yet qualititative. I have several shoes from 3 years ago and I’ve worn them non-stop and they still look amazing! And within their range, there are shoes for literally every occassion: from heels to boots to sneakers to flats and so on. When I first signed up for Instagram, unaware of the rule of not posting more than 3 photos a day, I shared my entire life in pictures. Until I was approached by the designer herself one day. Previously I had sent her a direct message, thanking her for creating such art. And then she replied… After a while, my Instagram started to taken it’s own course and my following started to grow. That’s how I rolled into the industry. I always loved sharing things I love and I can now do this on a more broader scale. And this didn’t went unnoticed: after only a few weeks I became a brand ambassor for Vanessa Wu, which to this day still doesn’t feel like real life.

This was my first ever collaboration and experience with a brand and boy, did I create some #ootd’s with these babies! And it also didn’t hurt that not long after I found matching leather jackets at ZARA. (And yes, I bought not only the rose gold jacket but also the one in silver) #shamelessplug. Sometimes you just click with a brand and their staff. The creative director and I occassionally checked up on eachother and maintained an awesome work relationship for a solid year as being an ambassador. I am no longer an ambassador but that hasn’t stopped me from buying more pairs. Winter was around the corner and I couldn’t resist getting their sneakers too. So I did… And took loads of streetstyle pics. You can discover the latest styles from her SS17 collection here:

Wow what a special shoes. Not my taste because I prefer to have simple shoes because my outfits are already banging, but it fits all your unique style and personality.

Wow, these are definitely shoes that make a statement! Gotta say I usually go for black or brown shoes and even white seems like too much to me sometimes. Maybe one day I’ll have the courage to wear shoes like these.

  5. The metallic brogues look super cool on you. I do like heeled brogues , especially if you wear them with knee high socks, I think that it makes a really cool look! x
